August Tip of the Month
TIP OF THE MONTH
* Do not skip out on regular trims. Lazy summer days give us the impression that less effort is required to maintain our regular “look” but the heat can increase frizziness and give our hair a dry, damaged look. So, keep those appointments with your stylist every 6-8 weeks!
* Consider having a deep conditioning treatment done during your next haircut appointment. Your stylist can give you an extra professional treatment to seal the cuticle and get your hair through the heat.
* Wash your hair less. Try to wash your hair less often to maintain moisture. After shampooing and conditioning, rinse hair in cool water to lock in moisture.
* Leave-in conditioners can replace rinse-outs. Plump up fine hair and give your hair the utmost moisture. Apply leave-in conditioner, like Redken's Anti-Snap, to towel dry hair.
* Read the label! Stay away from products that contain protein in the summer months, they can be very drying. Hairsprays can contain alcohol and dry out your strands, and some shine products that have a silicone base are great to control frizzies but can build up over time.
